DESCRIPTION: Elgin Watch Co., Elgin, Illinois, "Veritas", 18 size, 23 jewels, stem wind and lever set, 5 adjustments, ornately damascened nickel plate movement, with lever escapement, diamond endstone, cut bimetallic balance, double roller, gold jewel settings, gold timing screws and micrometric regulator, in a yellow gold filled, screw back and bezel, engine turned and engraved open face case, with Arabic numeral, outer red 5-minute markers, double sunk white enamel dial, blued steel spade hands, serial #11252495, c1905
CONDITION: CASE: Not original to the movement; Minor dent less than the size of a grain of rice; Dings and pin pricks; Fine scratches on outer surface of case; Very fine scratches on inner surface of case; Engine turning / engraving with moderate wear; Crown worn. DIAL: Hairlines in enamel, light, 7:00, and just above seconds bit; Flake in enamel concealed by bezel, 6:00; Chips in enamel at hole in seconds bit; Scratches minor to dial. HANDS: Replaced minute. MOVEMENT PLATES: Minor scratches on plate; Scratches and oxide on winding wheels; Click scratched; Oxide on regulator scale; Some loss to blacking in engraving. MOVEMENT FUNCTION: Running order (winds, sets and ticks).
